Oh my gosh! Love this! It's my new obsession and I wanted to know if anyone has heard of it? It's called 'The Mysterious Cities of Gold', and it's like, this old eighties Japanese/French cartoon. Anyway it's AWESOME! I'm in process of watching it. I think I'm up to episode twenty or something.
It's about this kid Esteban (he's adorable!) who goes to South America to find the cities of gold, and also his father. It takes place in the 1500s, with all that cool historical jazz - conquistadors, Incas, Macchu Piccu. And then it's got some cool sic-fi like stuff, that all the ancient advanced cultures came up with, like a solar powered ship. (One of the characters makes a submarine out of reeds! Talk about ingenuity!) And it's got really funky music, but it somehow works. Anyway it's really cool, and if you've never seen it I encourage you all to check it out. You can find the episodes on YouTube. If not I believe there are several other sites you can view/download them at, I just haven't really gotten the chance to check them out.
They are also apparently remaking it, and coming out with a movie this year or next. It would be awesome if they did, but I doubt they are. There seems to be no info on it online. If it did come out in theatars, I'd be one of the first on line for a ticket!
Seriously, I wanted to see if there's ANYONE here who loves this show as much as I do. And also what you guys think of SuperMendoza. (I'm convinced the man thinks he's a super hero... he has a strange obsession with his cape... Watch it. You'll see what I mean.)
If the YouTube thingy is a problem, staffers feel free to take it down.
